<p>A new species of acidophilic microorganism has been isolated from an acid mine drainage site. The organism is an archaea here given the tentative species designation Ferroplasma acidarmanus and the strain designation fer1. This organism is tolerant of extraordinary conditions of low pH and high metal concentrations.</p> |
