PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple plating method for forming a plated layer with high adhesiveness, on the surface of a pulley for CVT comprising a combination of a steel material with aluminum or an aluminum alloy. SOLUTION: The plating method on the pulley for CVT which contains a shaft part consisting of a steel material, and a pulley part consisting of aluminum and an aluminum alloy, includes steps of etching the pulley for CVT, zincating the pulley for CVT to form a displaced zinc film, forming the primary plating layer with a plating solution which hardly causes a displacement reaction on the steel material, and forming a desired plating layer on the primary plated layer.
