PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the guide of a tubular textile through at least one existing circular temple and to reduce tension in the textile in a method for treating the tubular textile, especially a knitted fabric, including natural fibers and synthetic elastomeric fibers by subjecting the tubular textile at least one steam treatment and then heat fixation process in a circularly expanded state in a vertical plane. SOLUTION: The tubular textile (1) is continuously sent at a first fixed transportation speed to a feed section (20) existing right above a heat fixing chamber (17) of the circular temple (21) arranged in the heat fixing chamber (17) of a treatment apparatus (6), the circular textile (1) temporarily form a product buffer on the heat fixing chamber (17) at the feed section (20), the tubular textile (1) are continuously taken out from the product buffer at a second fixed transportation speed and led to the heat fixation process.
