PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress the generation of a clonking sound without adversely affecting dragging torque at the time of non-braking and without increasing the number of parts in a disc brake for a vehicle. SOLUTION: In this disc brake for the vehicle constituted by interposing pad clips 40 and 50 among rotor peripheral direction end face parts 21a and 21b of a back metal 21 in a pad 20 and torque receiving parts 31 and 32 facing the parts 21a and 21b, the pad clip 40 provided at a portion to be the rotation inlet side of a disc rotor 10 when advancing the vehicle is integrally provided with a first spring application part 45 for normally energizing the pad 20 to the rotor rotation outlet side when advancing the vehicle, and is integrally provided with a second spring application part 46 for repulsively receiving and supporting the pad 20 by a spring force larger than a spring force of the first spring application part 45 after the pad 20 moves for a prescribed distance against the spring force of the fist spring application part 45 at the time of reverse braking.
