On line liquid consistency tester - based on rotating sprung feeler and external synchronous comparator arms

The feeler arm has its flat faces aligned with the flow direction of the liquid so that as it rotates its end is deflected by an amount dependent on the fluid resistance i.e. consistency. It and the comparator arm are on a common shaft and traverse electro-magnetic detectors whose output pulses are processed and the time difference between leading edges are measured as a scale of consistency. Accuracy is unaffected by wear and independent of flow rate of liquid on test.
