PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector having a prompt release mechanism for connection and separation. SOLUTION: The electric connector for interconnecting a portable wireless telephone and accessory devices is presented. The connector mounted on the accessory devices includes a groove for engaging a tab with the portable radio first, to be accurately alined between the portable wireless telephone and the connector when the connector is rotated toward the portable radio. Maintaining the alignment guarantees accurate matching between the electric connection of the portable radio and the electric connection of the connector, as well as guarantees accurate reception of a stopper for quarter turn of the connector by a receiving member of the portable radio. Thereafter a user rotates the stopper for quarter turn to shift the contacts mutually and secure the connector in place. The electric connector includes a two-point attachment mechanism, so that the connector is prevented from rotating against the portable radio.
