PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the phase margin of a control system regarding a signal reproducing method and a storage device. SOLUTION: This signal reproducing method for reproducing servo information recorded in a recording medium by using a head is provided with the matrix calculation step of performing current calculation regarding a current and observer calculation regarding the position and speed of the head on the recording medium from the reproduced servo information and the filter calculation step of calculating a current value for driving the head on the basis of the calculated result of the matrix calculation step. The filter calculation step is constituted so as to perform only an arithmetic operation requiring the demodulated result of a sample at present during a first period after the position of the head is demodulated until the current value is outputted and to perform the arithmetic operation requiring the demodulated result of the sample in the past during a second period other than the first period.
