摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a cylinder injection engine using a valve changing mechanism for promoting vaporization for the spray of fuel at the initial period of injection to reduce the rate of HC emissions while restraining the rate of mixing of burnt gas with fresh air to maintain the stability of combustion, and for reducing NOx by the effect of exhaust recirculation. SOLUTION: The cylinder injection engine has a fuel injection valve 17 provided to inject fuel directly into a combustion chamber, and valve changing drives 4 and 6 for controlling the opening and closing timings of an intake valve and/or an exhaust valve to vary. A control unit 7 controls the valve changing drives 4 and 6 to introduce the burnt gas from an exhaust port and inject the fuel during the compression stroke to cause stratified combustion. The control unit 7 controls the valve changing drives 4 and 6 to provide a phase difference between the opening timings of right and left valves of the intake valve 15 and/or the exhaust valve 16 to generate a flow of burnt gas along cylinder walls.
