PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress forward movement of an occupant reliably when an automobile is suddenly decelerated, without degrading seating comfort, and reduce weight and cost via a simple structure. SOLUTION: A stopping member 5 is arranged in a front portion of a seat cushion 1, and supporting shafts 6 with a downwardly extending axis are extended from the stopping member 5. Cylindrical guide members 10 for guiding the supporting shafts 6 in an axially slidable condition are mounted on a bottom portion of the seat cushion 1, and compression springs 15 are disposed to urge the stopping member 5 upward. When an occupant sits on the seat cushion 1, the stopping member 5 is lowered to keep seating comfort intact. When the buttocks of the occupant try to move forward upon sudden deceleration, the stopping member 5 can reliably suppress the forward movement of the occupant.
