<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoder and a decoding method that can enhance the image quality of a reproduced image in the case of decoding an image code stream obtained by coding the image subjected to emphasis processing. SOLUTION: Degree of final deemphasis is set from emphasis level information, including quantization information multiplexed on an incoming image code stream, so as to obtain a reproduced image with the correct frequency characteristic.</p> |
