PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable liquid crystal composition containing a polymerizable liquid crystal compound wherein the temperature exhibiting a nematic phase is low, the compatibility with other polymerizable liquid crystal compound to be combined is excellent and high transparency and high mechanical strength can be obtained after the polymerization. SOLUTION: The composition exhibiting the liquid crystalline phase contains a liquid crystalline skeleton having 2 or more ring structures and a compound (I) having a partial structure represented by the formula: P1-S1-A1-D1-E1-[P1 is a polymerizable functional group; S1 is -(CH2)w-, -O(CH2)w-, -(CH2)wO-, -(CH2)wC(=O)O-, -(CH2)wOC(=O)-,-C(=O)O(CH2)w-, -OC(=O)(CH2)w- (w; 1-20); A1 and E1 are a hydrocarbon ring, a hetero ring; E1 is a ring contained in the skeleton; D1 is -C(=O)-O-(CH2)m-O-, -O(CH2)m-O-C(=O)-, -O-C(=O)-(CH2)m-O-, -O-(CH2)m-O-, -C(=O)-O- (m; 1-15)].
