PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive lift for servicing a vehicle to be installed easily with lightweight supports and drive device. CONSTITUTION: A carriage 11 with an arm attaching member 14 for holding a vehicle slides on the inner surface of a support 10 by a guide shoe 12. Since the guide shoe 12 rotates around an attaching shaft 13, the guide shoe always keeps in contact with the inner surface of the support 10 even if the inner surface of the support 10 curves. As a result, even if the sliding surface on the inner surface of the support 10 is curved, the guide shoe 12 journalled to the attaching shaft 13 is always in contact with the sliding surface evenly while rotating along the curve. Therefore, the guide shoe doesn't have to be changed soon because of generation of biased abrasion on the guide shoe, and application of a load to the driving power of the lift caused by the increase of the sliding resistance is prevented. In addition, as the contact area with the sliding surface inside the support is small and the contact surface pressure is high, it is not necessary to reinforce the support.
