The invention relates to a teaching equipment assembly, grouped together in a small-dimensioned cabinet, permitting the student of optics to carry out most of his elementary experiments, with functional equipment. It consists of a cabinet made of coloured plastic material containing the accessories stored in cells and a housing for a 4.5 V battery equipped with sockets for banana plugs in electrical contact with the poles of the battery by means of leaf springs. In open position, the sliding transparent cover of this cabinet serves as a working table and accommodates a graduated rail serving as a guide in translation for the accessory supports. This equipment assembly can serve as experimental support for all collective or individual training activity in elementary optics. It is particularly adapted to experimentation corresponding to the current programmes of fourth year classes in colleges. <IMAGE>
