PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically determine the position of a jig probe in the jig design process of a printed circuit board (PCB). SOLUTION: The device determines the position of a jig probe within a printed circuit board tester jig 220 on the basis of the design 540 of a printed circuit board. The design 540 thereof includes a net which is provided with a related suitable test pad that is mounted to a related suitable depth measuring position along the respective nets and a related substitutional test pad mounted to the net. The net under designing of the printed circuit board is comprised of the suitable test pad related to the net, a printed circuit board design test pad position extraction function 560 to create related test pad lists including the substitutional test pad, and a processor 550 to execute a probe positioning algorithm 570 and determine suitable depth measuring positions related to the net.
