<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for discriminating real-time traffic in a telecommunications network. SOLUTION: The method and device apply to recognition of a real-time traffic, such as a voice traffic in a network of packet base or cell base, through resolving of network traffic characteristics. In this method, a data traffic is monitored to discriminate the data packet sequence of an unknown class, which is transferred between an originator address and a destination address. Then parameters of at least a significant part of the data packet sequence are measured. From the measured parameters, probabilistic classification of the data transferred in the data packet sequence is derived, so that data traffics are classified in a communication network of packet base, in which data of different classes are transferred.</p> |
