PURPOSE: A transceiver for a serial data bus is provided, which solves an error condition generated in a receiving line between the transceiver and a protocol controller, and thus prevents data from being stopped in this error condition. CONSTITUTION: The transceiver for a serial data bus is connected to a protocol controller managing a data bus protocol through a transmission line(TXD) and a receiving line(RXD), and the transceiver is connected to a line of a data bus. The transceiver includes an error management unit(1), which supplies an error signal when the error management unit recognizes that the data bus line is active and the receiving line is inactive at the same time. The transceiver does not act in an active state on the data bus, by the error signal.
