PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fusion-welding apparatus having high reliability to a joint, excellent workability and also, easy operation. SOLUTION: This fusion-welding apparatus 3 is provided, by which current is supplied between two metallic bars 1, 1' disposed with an interval and the tip parts thereof are melted with arc and also, a fused pool formed by melting flux is grown, and when the interval between the tip parts of two metallic bars after eliminating the arc, are filled with the fused pool, the supply of the electric power is stopped and also, simultaneously, the interval between the tip parts of the metallic bars, is press-joined to connect the metallic bars. This apparatus is constituted of an electric source 9 for supplying the constant current between the welding metallic bars, metallic bar holding devices 4 for holding the metallic bars, a driving means 7 for adjusting the interval between the metallic bars and a control means 10 for detecting output voltage and output waveform in the electric source and press-joining the tip parts of the metallic bars by driving the driving means when the output waveform becomes a prescribed waveform.
