The helmet includes a padded sealing strip (6) which projects inwards relative to the shock-absorbing dome (2) so that it adjoins the head of the wearer in the region in front of the ears towards the visor, underneath the ears and at the back of the head. The padded seal can be circumferentially closed and runs round the forehead and upper head area.
