The present invention relates to a process for preparing quinoline compounds that are usable as medicaments against malaria, as well as intermediates used in this preparation process. The invented preparation process of the compound of the general formula A, wherein Re1 represents alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms ; Re2 and Re3 represent independently on each other a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, trifluoromethyl or an alkoxy group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms; Re4 represents alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms; Re5 represents a hydrogen atom or alkyl containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, comprises reacting the compound of the general formula II, wherein X represents a cleavable group, with the compound of the general formula III. |
