PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein the alignment state of a liquid crystal is not changed even if high voltage is applied to column electrodes. SOLUTION: A non-conductive film 13 having opening parts 13a in prescribed positions is provided on a signal electrode 10 and an electrode slit 10a along the opening parts 13a of the non-conductive film 13 is formed opposite to the non-conductive film 13 of the signal electrode 10. A liquid crystal 9 between substrates is controlled to be highly aligned in the vertical direction and the alignment state of a liquid crystal 9a of an adjoining pixel 11 can be made not to be affected by the electric field of adjoining electrode, even if high voltage is applied to the column electrode. Thus, the alignment turbulence due to the electric field from the adjoining electrode can be reduced and the uniformity of display can be enhanced. |
