The method is used for manufacturing a cooling air opening in a metallic component of a gas-turbine. The opening (2) at least sectionally comprises a non-cylindrical funnel (9). The metal, during forming of the funnel by selecting the laser parameter is mainly removed by sublimation in layers (11). The laser beam (10) is focussed (15) to a diameter of 0.1 mm and is arranged relative to the component (1) so that the layers to be removed lie respectively in the focus of the laser beam.
