PURPOSE: A method is provided to cut various types of materials using high heat energy and high temperature and pressure combustion gas produced when reacting a fuel with an oxidizer in a hybrid combustion unit, and movement and heat energies of a combustion gas by accelerating the heat energy and combustion gas through a nozzle. CONSTITUTION: In a supersonic gas cutter using a hybrid combustion unit, the cutter obtains cutting effect by producing energy generated by combustion chemical reaction using the hybrid combustion unit in which a solid phase fuel(2) and a liquid phase oxidizer(4) are combined, or the reversed combination is used and accelerating the produced high temperature high pressure combustion gas through a nozzle(1) at a supersonic speed, thereby colliding high speed jet with a target to be cut using heat and movement energies of an ultra high speed gas. The method for operating supersonic gas cutter using a hybrid combustion unit comprises the steps of coupling a fuel nozzle cartridge(3) on which the fuel and the nozzle(1) are integrally mounted to the body(5) of the cutter; cutting a target by igniting the hybrid combustion unit so that a combustion gas of the hybrid combustion unit is accelerated at a supersonic speed through the nozzle(1); and separating and exchanging the fuel nozzle cartridge(3) filled with the fuel that is precalculated in the combustion time range not influencing performance of the nozzle(1).
