PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master slave type radio communication system that automatically and adaptively realizes a radio communication system having a radio data link optimum to a communication characteristic of a host layer of a protocol stack and requirement communication quality. SOLUTION: The radio communication system has radio communication terminals. The radio communication terminal is provided with a communication quality decision means that decides the requirement communication quality in communication with other radio communication terminal, a communication quality notice means that informs the other radio communication terminal about the requirement communication quality decided by the communication quality decision means and a role revision means that changes roles between a master terminal and slave terminals according to a master instruction signal. One of the radio communication terminals is a role management terminal that is provided with a role management means that decides a radio communication terminal to be the master terminal on the basis of the requirement communication quality received from the other radio communication terminals and generates the master instruction signal to designate the radio communication terminal acting like the master terminal.
