摘要 Electrode for a lithium secondary cell comprises a conductive support and an active layer containing an electrochemically active material comprising a mixed oxide of lithium and titanium of formula LixTiyO4, where x = 0.8-1.4 and y = 1.6-2.2, and a binder comprising a non-fluorinated polymer. Preferred Features: The non-fluorinated polymer is soluble in water or can form an emulsion with water. The binder includes 30-70 weight % of an elastomer or 30-70 weight % of a cellulosic compound. Alternatively, the binder can comprise a mixture of the elastomer and the cellulosic compound in amounts of 30-70 weight %, preferably 50-70 weight %, and 30-70 weight %, preferably 30-50 weight %, respectively. Independent claims are given for: (a) a process for the manufacture of the electrode; and (b) an electrochemical cell including a negative electrode comprising the above electrode, a positive electrode containing an electrochemically active material comprising a transition metal oxide, a separator between the electrodes, and an electrolyte containing a lithium salt dissolved in an organic solvent.
