PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve difficulty in realizing a lower cost and downsizing in an optical disc device for reproducing compatible recording of DVD and CD (CD-R) due to many optical components such as prisms. SOLUTION: In an optical head, beam of light is irradiated from a light irradiating element uniting several light sources that differ in a wavelength of the irradiated beam of light and optics unites the beam of light from the light sources in an optical information recording medium. An optics separating means separates reflex beam of light from the optical information recording medium from the beam of light from the light sources and a light receiving element detects an amount of the beam of light separated by the optics separating means.
