PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device, a controller for the image pickup device and a light quantity control method by which photographing is conducted under a more proper exposure state by decreasing occurrence of white level jumping and black level deformation, even in the case of photographing under conditions or the like where a back light takes place and a difference of contrast is rapidly caused. SOLUTION: The controller for the imaging device is provided with a CMOS sensor (1), that can control a change storage time for each pixel, a decision means (12-15) that decides the charge storage time of each pixel of the CMOS sensor on the basis of an optional image obtained from the CMOS sensor for each prescribed period, and each pixel storage time setting section (16) that uses the charge storage time for each pixel decided by the decision means to control the CMOS sensor, in the order for imaging for a succeeding prescribed period to a period, when an image is obtained. |
