The present invention provides isolated laminin 10, methods for making recombinant laminin 10, host cells that express recombinant laminin 10, and methods for using the recombinant laminin 10 to accelerate the healing of injuries to vascular tissue, and to promote cell attachment and migration. The present invention also provides nucleic acid sequences encoding full length human laminin alpha 5 chain, expression vectors and host cells thereof, and isolated full length human laminin alpha 5 polypeptide chain.
