<p>A device for controlling a stream of data packets, comprising: a buffer (2) means (4) adapted to monitor a fill level of said buffer (2), means (5) to detect a fill level condition of said buffer (2), in which incoming data has to be dropped, and to control a means (6) for dropping incoming data upon detection of said condition, and further comprising an output rate. Said output rate control means, in response to said condition issues a first control signal (5a) to increase a current output rate to a predefined rate, and said output rate control means, in response to each non-dropped data packet received after said detection issues a second control signal (11a) to decrease a currently adjusted output rate.</p> |
