PURPOSE: A scrambling code searching method in a W-CDMA system is provided to prevent occurrence of a peak processing power by distributing a process for obtaining a decision variable required for a large amount of calculation to several slots and calculating them, and heighten an economic efficiency by using a DSP chip with a low calculation speed. CONSTITUTION: A mobile station searches a starting point of a slot for a base station with the smallest path loss by using a matching filter for the first synchronous channel. The mobile station performs a cross relation on the signal received at the obtained slot position for the 16 available second synchronous channel codes, obtains a determining variable at each slot by using the performed cross relation value, and searches a determining variable with the maximum value, thereby obtaining long code group information and information on a starting point of a frame. |
