Tooth tips (15), which fit over teeth (13) and distal ends of fingers (7) formed between slots (5) in laminated disks (1) making up a portion of a stator in a generator, facilitate slipping stator windings (25) into the slots (5) from a central opening (3) in the laminated disks (1); cooperate with wedges (23) to affix stator windings (25) in the slots (5); and provide a slot gap (24) between adjacent tooth tips (15), which is substantially smaller than the width of the slots (5), to reduce slot harmonics and improve performance of the generator. <IMAGE> |
