PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device that can compare a photographed image with a sample image on the spot. SOLUTION: The optical device is configured of an imaging means that images an optical image to generate a photographed image, a database that stores names of samples and sampled images while related with each other, an entry means that accepts an operation of a user to designate a sample name, a retrieval means that retrieves a sample image from the database, on the basis of the sample name designated by the entry means, and a display means that displays the sample image retrieved by the retrieval means in comparison with the pick-up image.
