PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid composition, an ink set having black ink and color ink, a method and device for ink-jet recording using the same wherein an image of good printing quality is given and a long life of an ink-jet recording head can be achieved. SOLUTION: There are provided a liquid composition containing a polyvalent metal salt, an acid having an amino group, and a substance selected from the salt of the acid, and a liquid medium, an ink-jet recording method which gives the liquid composition and a coloring ink onto a recording medium so that the composition is brought into contact with the ink, a color ink containing a coloring material, the liquid medium, the polyvalent metal salt, the acid having an amino group and a substance selected from the salt of the acid, an ink set for ink-jet recording which contains the coloring material and a liquid medium in which the color ink is combined with a black ink, which reacts with the color ink by being brought into contact with the color ink, and an ink-jet recording method and device using the ink set. |
