PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of surely circulating engine oil in an oil passage on the inside of an engine in a simple structure and surely obtaining a cooling effect with engine oil. SOLUTION: This internal combustion engine is equipped with a cylinder, a piston 1, connecting rod 2, a crank shaft, and a piston pin 4. The oil passage 8 for circulating the engine oil in the inside of the piston 1 is installed, the piston pin 4 is fixed to the connecting rod 2, an oil supply passage 9 passing through the piston pin 4 from the lower surface of the piston 1 and reaching the oil passage 8 when the piston 1 locates in the specified position is installed, an injection nozzle for ejecting oil toward the oil supply passage 9 when the piston locates in the specified position is installed in the lower part of the cylinder, and the oil supply passage 9 is opened or closed in response to the reciprocating motion of the piston 1.
