PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet type printer which brakes the opening motion of a cover of an ink cartridge holder and enables concurrently sure execution of reading and writing of ink information. SOLUTION: An ink cartridge which reserves ink to be supplied to a print head is inserted into and extracted from the ink cartridge holder 150, and the holder is provided with a cover 151 which can be opened and closed and a damper 153 which works on the opening motion of the cover. Even when a user fails to support the cover of some weight on disengagement of an engaging part 155 thereof, it is possible to avoid such a damage of the cover caused by collision with something located around it, an occurs so far, since the cover gently opens automatically according to this constitution. |
