PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet reversing device capable of responding to a high- speed processing and preventing the lowering of a branch mechanism and to provide an image formation device having the sheet reversing device. SOLUTION: This device switches back a paper sheet carried from a main carrier passage K1 in a switch-back carrier passage K2 to reverse in the direction of a branch carrier passage K3. The switch-back carrier passage K2 and the branch carrier passage K3 are formed of fixed side paper guide members 71a and 71b and a movable side paper guide member 74 capable of opening/ closing the fixed side paper guide members 71a and 71b, and a branch member 72 composed of an elastic member branches between the switch-back carrier passage K2 and the branch carrier passage K3. A guide part mating with the branch member 72 of movable side paper guide member 74 is formed into a separate body from the movable side paper guide member 74 and a fixed guide 73 to be the guide part is mated with the branch member 72 so as to constitute, at least, a part of the branch carrier passage K3 in the fixed side.
