PURPOSE: A computer system and a control method thereof are provided to support an S3(Sleep) mode even if a graphic controller does not support the S3 mode. CONSTITUTION: The computer system comprises a CPU and a graphic controller(50) to store the video information provided from the CPU. The computer system supports a regular mode and a sleep mode. The computer system comprises a power supply unit(10) to supply main power for a regular mode and standby power for a sleep mode, a switching circuit(30) interposed between the power supply unit and a graphic controller to transmit the main power to the graphic controller in the regular mode and the standby power to the graphic controller in the sleep mode, a regulator circuit(40) to transmit power to the graphic controller by changing the power transmitted from the switching circuit into a specific low-voltage power, and a control unit(30) to transmit the main power in the regular mode and the standby power in the sleep mode by controlling the switching circuit.
