PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic converter having the excellent durability. SOLUTION: This catalytic converter 1 is provided with a catalyst carrier 2, a cylindrical metal shell 3 for covering the periphery of the catalyst carrier 2, and a holding sealant 4 arranged in a gap between them. The holding sealant 4 is provided with a part P1 having a filling density relatively higher than other parts of the holding sealant 4 at a gas inflow side end of the holding sealant 4.
