PURPOSE: To provide a photosensitive transfer material having a smooth surface, free from irregular color and excellent in adhesiveness to a substrate when transferred to the substrate. CONSTITUTION: In the photosensitive transfer material obtained by disposing at least an alkali-soluble thermoplastic resin layer and a colorant-containing photosensitive resin layer in this order on a temporary base, a surfactant comprising a homopolymer of a polymerizable monomer of the formula CnF(2n+1)-L- CH2CH2-O-C(=O)-CR=CH2 and having a weight average molecular weight Mw of >=3,000 is contained in at least one of the thermoplastic resin layer and the photosensitive resin layer.
