PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a diffuse reflection body provided with excellent primary characteristics as the diffuse reflection body and excellent heat resistance. SOLUTION: The method is characterized by forming a fine projecting and recessing surface by etching a surface of a glass substrate with photolithography and subsequently to form a metal thin film thereon.
