<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device for smoothly transferring signals from a drain electrode to a pixel electrode by reducing contact resistance between the drain electrode and the pixel electrode, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This invention comprises a transparent substrate 11, gate electrodes 13 formed on the transparent substrate 11, a gate insulating film 15 formed to cover the gate electrodes 13, an active layer 17 formed on the part corresponding to the gate electrodes 13 on the gate insulating film 15, source electrodes 21 formed on the active layer 17 via an ohmic contact layer 19, drain electrodes 23 formed so as to face the source electrodes 21 so that the parts faced to the source electrodes 21 are 'L'-shaped and the inside of the parts have lots of projections, a protective layer 25 formed on the active layer 17 so as to cover the upper parts of the source electrodes 21 and the drain electrodes 23, and pixel electrodes 29 formed so as to be in contact with the side faces of the drain electrodes 23.</p> |
