PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which the reliability of a self-diagnosis function can be enhanced. SOLUTION: The printer comprises an engine board 114 for controlling each imaging section of the printer, a controller 100 for receiving an image from each interface and transmitting it to the engine board 114 while developing into bit map data, and an NIC 107 for receiving image data from a host 109 through a network and decoding the image data through a CPU (2) 111 before transmitting it to the controller 100 wherein an analysis program for diagnosing the controller 100 unit using a dedicated bus 115 being connected with the controller 100 is mounted on the ROM 112 of the NIC 107. |
