PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for preparing distilled tea by continuously extracting a tea component with distilled water condensed from vapor or vapor containing the distilled water are provided. By this method, various types of tea are produced with a single equipment at low cost. CONSTITUTION: Water is heated to produce vapor, the vapor is condensed to produce distilled water at 60 to 80deg.C or a mixture of distilled water at 80deg.C or more and vapor at 100deg.C. The obtained vapor or vapor containing distilled water is subjected to passing though a tank in which tea material is charged to extract the tea material and the extracted tea component is cooled to room temperature and then filtered. The apparatus comprises: a vapor generating tank(16) containing a first condenser(20) and a second condenser(22) in parallel; and a tea extracting tank(24) containing a nozzle type distilled water injector(56) and connected to the outlet of the first and second condenser and a cooling pipe(18).
