摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy in which cast cracking resistance can be secured though the content of aluminum is reduced, and further, heat resistance represented by creep resistance in a high temperature region is improved and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy has a composition containing, by weight, 0.6 to 4.6% Nd, further containing rare earth elements mainly consisting of Ce, La and Nd by 1.0 to 7.0% and <=0.8% Al, and the balance magnesium with inevitable impurities. In its production method, a magnesium alloy blended with Misch metal containing rare earth elements essentially consisting of Ce, La and Nd by 1.0 to 7.0%, further additionally blended with 0.8 to 3.0% Nd and also containing <=0.8% Al is formed, and, when the weight % of Nd is defined as W1, and the weight % of rare earth elements including Nd is defined as W2, the value of W1/W2 is increased.
