PURPOSE: An image display device having driving modes is provided to be capable of adjusting power consumption and luminance. CONSTITUTION: The display device is provided with an image display part(1) having plural light emitting elements and a control part(5) which performs control so that one mode of first to third modes is to be selected as the driving method of the image display part(1). The image display part(1) is divided into the plurality of first and second display areas(1a,1b) by a virtual line parallel with at least one line of plural scanning lines. In the first mode, a scanning signal is not simultaneously inputted to respective plural scanning lines but the scanning signal is inputted to every single scanning line of plural scanning lines. In the second mode, the scanning signal is simultaneously inputted to every single scanning line in respective first and second display areas and. In the third mode, the scanning signals is simultaneously inputted to every plural scanning lines in the respective first and second display areas.
