MUTUAL AUTHENTICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to realize compact mounting, and to make it necessary to realize an efficient system in terms of data communication quantity at the time of realizing a mutual authentication method on equipment in which the constraint of a circuit scale is strict, and a data transferring speed is low such as an IC card. SOLUTION: Only one of a transformation pair having the relation of inverse transformation is used for mutual authentication in each equipment so that compact mounting can be realized. Also, the result of the double transformation using random numbers generated inside the equipment by one of the transformation pair is used as challenge data, and challenge/response authentication is performed so that a highly safe and efficient mutual authentication method can be realized.
