PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner image transfer device that prevents a sudden transfer bias change resulting from a sudden temperature rise in an image forming device and therefore prevents a failure in transfer of a toner image to a recording sheet, even in the case where only a resistance of a transfer roll is measured and the magnitude of a transfer bias to be applied is controlled. SOLUTION: The toner image transfer device is composed of the transfer roll 31 which transfers a toner image from a photoreceptor drum 27 to the recording sheet P, a transfer bias power source which applies a transfer bias to the transfer roll 31, and a roll resistance monitor means which monitors a resistance of the transfer roll 31 as required. The toner image transfer device is also composed of a history holding means which stores the monitored resistance of the transfer roll 31, and an application bias determination means which controls the transfer bias power source based on the resistance of the transfer roll 31, monitored by the roll resistance monitor means most recently, and based on the previous resistance stored in the history holding means. |
