The invention relates to a fuel-injection valve (1), in particular for directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. Said valve has an actuator (10), which interacts with a valve needle (3), the injection end of said valve needle (3) having a valve closing body (4). The valve closing body co-operates with a valve seat surface (6) on a valve seat body (5) to form a sealed seat. The valve closing body (4) passes through a swirl element (32), which is located on an inlet contact surface (35) of the valve seat body (5), swirl channels (33) being configured in the swirl element (32). The valve seat body (5) has an annular projection (36) on its inlet contact surface (35), facing towards the swirl element (32).
