摘要 The invention relates to a method and device for detecting viscous liquids on a solid, especially moving, undersurface (1), e.g. flat packaging material such as paperboard, paper, cardboard, plastic or the like, whereby the viscous liquid, sizing material in particular (2), is continuously deposited on the undersurface. The surface of the deposited viscous liquid (2) is defined and periodically deformed. Subsequently, light is transmitted onto the deformed surface, whereby the brilliance of the light thus reflected, corresponding to the shape of the surface of the viscous liquid in one plane, is given a periodic profile. Said brilliance profile of the light reflected from the deformed surface is received in a spatially and/or chronologically separate manner and converted into a periodic electric signal, enabling the presence of the sizing material (2) to be checked and the discharge of the liquid onto the undersurface to be regulated.
