PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan enhanced in safety of the motor rotation of a fan and capable of easily performing the attaching/detaching of a motor cover. SOLUTION: A vortical draft hole 25 is formed on the ceiling face 31 of a motor cover 20 attached to the outer periphery of a motor and a fan for cooling the motor, and a rectangular vent hole 35 is formed on the side face 36 of the cover. In this case, by forming the holes 25 and 35 in such a shape that the dimension is smaller than the diameter of the smallest screw or pin used as components of the fan, the falling of the components from the holes into the motor is prevented. Further, the motor cover 20 can be attached or detached by forming, on the side face 36, the hook-shaped notch parts 32, 33 and a screw hole 34 for installing, and only removing a round head screw 22 positioned in the screw hole 34 in such a state that among three fixing screws 22, those used at the positions of the notch parts 32 and 33 are screwed.
