PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst apparatus made possible to surely have a wide surface area to be brought into contact with a gas passing even if the apparatus is miniaturized, having a high catalyst holding capability, and excellent in durability. SOLUTION: The catalyst apparatus 1 provided with a catalyst to be used for NOx removal or reform of CH4 and CO2 is manufactured using a felt-like fiber structure body 10 produced by layering silicon carbide fibers 11 having fine pores 11h or SiB-O-based glass fibers 11 having fine pores 11h at random, a catalyst 20 containing mainly either brown miralite or a metal, a cerium oxide, and magnesium oxide and deposited in the fine pores 11h of the felt-like fiber structure body 10, and a filter member 40 made of metal nets 31, 32 and sandwiching the felt-like fiber structure body 10. |
